Legislative Expenses

Rep Truitt takes pride in his thriftiness. He does not accept per diems or drive a state car. He requests reimbursement only for expenses that are normally reimbursed by businesses in the private sector. Although he lives more than 50 miles from the Capitol, he returns home every evening unless the House remains in session past 9:00 p.m. He is a member of the unofficial "couch caucus" for those sessions, so expenses for meals and hotels will rarely appear in these reports.
